Silverstone boss promises ‘full investigation’

Silverstone Managing Director Stuart Pringle has promised a full investigation after todays British MotoGP round was cancelled due to unsafe track conditions. Heavy rain and issues with drainage caused standing water to build up in certain areas of the 3.19-mile circuit. After numerous delays and the best efforts of all involved the decision to cancel the race was made shortly after 4pm, five and a half hours after the rescheduled start time. “Firstly and most importantly I would like to apologise to all of the race fans for the most trying and foulest of days at Silverstone,” said Pringle. “I am truly sorry this has happened.
