Higher temperatures worked against Laverty
MotoGP rookie Eugene Laverty said the surge in temperature at the Circuit of the Americas on Sunday completely altered his feeling with the Aspar Honda. Laverty also struggled with tyre fade in the latter part of the race as he finished in 16th position, one place outside the points in Austin. The Northern Ireland rider, who had been as high as 12th place on the opening laps, said: “It was strange today because the bike felt different to the rest of the weekend with the change in temperature.
