Marc Marquez beats Valentino Rossi in close British GP qualifying

Marc Marquez claimed a close pole position for the British round of the MotoGP World Championship on Saturday with a record-breaking lap of the Silverstone circuit. The Spaniard is the first to break the two minute barrier with his pole lap of 1:59.941 and he was the only rider to manage that, although things were tight at the top with Valentino Rossi just 0.084 off in second. Briton's Cal Crutchlow was a further 0.081 behind Rossi to secure a front-row starting position at his home event for LCR Honda. Maverick Viñales heads up the second row a further two tenths back on Crutchlow, just ahead of the fastest man in FP4, Ducati's Jorge Lorenzo. As on Friday, the number...
