Lowes hails 'big steps forward' at Assen

– Aprilia rider Sam Lowes reckons he took "big steps forward" at the Dutch TT and is hopeful of ending the first half of his rookie MotoGP season inside the points.Lowes stepped up to MotoGP for 2017 after three seasons in Moto2, where he earned a trio of wins, eight further podiums and a best overall classification of fourth.But despite signing to race with Aprilia in both 2017 and 2018, he has come under pressure at recent events, having claimed only one points finish (top 15) so far.Aprilia chief Romano Albesiano has admitted to considering potential replacements, with Álvaro Bautista and Danilo Petrucci both revealing that talks have taken place.However, at Assen last...
