Rossi's 2017 title lead 'a great surprise'
– Valentino Rossi says it comes as "a great surprise" to himself and Yamaha that he leads the MotoGP title race after the first three rounds of 2017.Rossi struggled to find a suitable balance with the YZR-M1 during the pre-season and lapped significantly slower than new team-mate Maverick Viñales.However, despite ongoing set-up struggles, the seven-time MotoGP champion has delivered on race days to finish on the podium at all Grands Prix so far.His third-place finish in Qatar and second-place results in Argentina and the US have put him on 56 points, six ahead of Viñales, who won the first two races but crashed out of Sunday's race in Austin."It was a great surprise...
