Stoner turns first laps of 2017 on new Ducati

Ducati test rider Casey Stoner has turned his first laps of 2017 during private testing at Sepang, the Australian riding the Desmosedici GP17 for the first time. The Italian manufacturer didn't show off its final bike during last week's Bologna launch, revealing only the livery of the bikes that Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso will race this year. But the GP17 re-appeared in Malaysia on Wednesday, as Michele Pirro took to the track in a plain-liveried version of the all-new machine. The latest evolution of the bike is visually distinct to the version used last November's Valencia and Jerez tests, featuring heavily revised fairing and an off-centre exhaust.
