Lorenzo not focused on bettering Rossi’s Ducati record

Jorge Lorenzo says he has no particular interest in doing a better job at the Ducati MotoGP team than rival Valentino Rossi managed in 2011-12. Rossi famously endured a dismal spell when he switched from Yamaha to Ducati for the 2011 season, failing to win a race in two seasons with the Italian team before returning to Yamaha for 2013. Now three-time premier class champion Lorenzo is attempting a similar switch in 2017, turning his back on Yamaha in a bid to deliver Ducati its first MotoGP title since 2007.
