Capirossi joins revised Race Direction
– Former Grand Prix rider Loris Capirossi will join MotoGP's Race Direction for 2017.Capirossi has acted as Dorna Sport's Safety Advisor since retiring from motorcycle racing at the end of 2011, and replaces Javier Alonso, who departed his role with MotoGP's promoter late last year.Capirossi will act as Dorna Representative from the new season, alongside Mike Webb, Race Director (IRTA Representative) and Franco Uncini, Grand Prix Safety Officer (FIM Representative).Capirossi claimed nine Grand Prix victories during his time in the premier class.
