Aoyama replaces Pedrosa in Malaysia, Barbera returns to Avintia
Repsol Honda test rider Hiroshi Aoyama will replace the injury Dani Pedrosa for this weekend’s MotoGP race weekend in Malaysia. Pedrosa fractured his right collarbone in a crash during practice in Japan and was replaced for the race at Motegi by Aoyama. Former MotoGP champion Nicky Hayden stood in for Pedrosa in Australia but has commitments with World Superbikes. Honda says Pedrosa’s injury is healing well but he is still not ready to return to his Honda bike, confirming Aoyama – who has started 69 races in the premier class – as his replacement.
