Aoyama called up to replace injured Pedrosa

Hiroshi Aoyama will return to the MotoGP World Championship at the Circuit of the Americas after being called up to replace the sidelined Dani Pedrosa. The Japanese rider, who has started 64 MotoGP races since making his debut in 2010, joined HRC at the end of the 2014 season in the role of test and development rider after losing his race seat with the Drive M7 Aspar team. However, the confirmation that Pedrosa – who suffered with arm pump issues in Qatar – will miss the next two events as he recovers from surgery on his troublesome forearm, means Aoyama will get a call up to join Marc Marquez on the factory Repsol Honda.
