Indonesian MotoGP venue targeted for mid-2021 completion, set to be ‘one of the fastest on the calendar'

The construction of Indonesia’s Mandalika International Street Circuit is gearing up to be completed mid-way through 2021, with a maiden MotoGP event potentially set to take place soon afterwards. The 4.3km, 17 corner street circuit-the first of its kind to ever appear on a motorcycle grand prix racing schedule-will be located on the Indonesian island of Lombok, and if completed on schedule could host its first race to a sea of 150,000 fans. The track is set to be a part of a large scale push for tourism in the area, with “numerous luxury hotels” and other “leisure facilities” set to be built nearby.
