Dovizioso to take MotoGP sabbatical in 2021

Andrea Dovizioso has announced that he will take a sabbatical from MotoGP competition in 2021 after electing to turn down a test role from “several” manufacturers. Dovizioso decided to leave current employers Ducati after several months of tough negotiations with the Italian marque, a decision he took after it refused to give into his specific demands. With most ’21 seats already sewn up by the time Dovizioso announced his Ducati departure during the Austrian Grand Prix event in August-a contest he went on to win-a job of test rider with one of MotoGP’s other manufacturers looked to be the most likely destination for the three-time premier class runner-up.
