Tech3 and Yamaha: 2001-2017

After finishing first and second with Olivier Jacque and Shina Nakano on Yamaha machinery in the 2000 250cc World Championship, both riders and the Tech3 team  moved up to the premier-class in 2001. Tech 3 has remained in MotoGP, on Yamaha machinery, every since. Following today's announcement that the French team will switch to another manufacturer (rumoured to be KTM) in 2019, here is a summary of what Tech 3 and Yamaha have achieved in 500cc/MotoGP. The closest the team has come to a premier-class victory is +0.377s by star rookie Johann Zarco at Valencia last year.
